I’m flipping back and forth between The Corpse Bride and The A-Team. Both are totally awesome movies, but as I watch, there are tons of thoughts that I have to leave unsaid. I’m weird enough anyway, and it gets worse when I ask questions during the movie.
For example, at one point during The Incredible Hulk all I could think about was “wow, who is going to clean up that mess?” I got some weird looks for that one.
There is a scene in A-Team where the plane has exploded and the team is in a tank trying not to get shot down by the drone planes who are trying to take them down. They exchange a lot of bullets. And then the team discovers the cannon on the tank and they decide to “fly” the tank to position it over a lake. You know, to soften the blow when they crash land.
I see the issue in this… But have never said anything. Mr. T walks through the living room and goes “So, what happens to all of those bullets and cannonballs that they are shooting? They have to land somewhere, how many people do you think they are killing?”
YES! Thank you!!
How sad is it that I can believe a cartoon movie about a Halloween skeleton that takes over Christmas before I can believe that those bullets and cannonballs didn’t kill several innocent people hundreds of yards down?
Movie logic kills me.
I am cracking up at the comments, but especially what The Smirking Cat said about women action stars! Although, technically not “action”, but possibly Super Heroes, I always laugh when women go through labor on TV and in the movies and their hair and make-up is perfect! Really? I did that 4 times and my hair and make-up were NOT perfect when all was said and done!
Lmbo!! Exactly!! It’s too funny!
I know, right??? I love movies and tv shows, but sometimes I have to suspend logic in order to enjoy them. And it is easier to believe a cartoon over a live action film because everything is plausible in the animation universe.
That must be it! Cartoons help me continue to believe in magic!
Believing in magic is a great quality to have. I almost lost mine but I think it’s coming back. Thank God.
I’m so happy to hear that!!! š
I love action movies with female characters who survive bombs, running, shootings, and near drownings, all while maintaining perfect hair and make-up. Oh, so realistic!
Hahahhahahaha! You’re right! I’ve noticed that, too, the hair is never out of place and I can’t walk to the corner without my makeup melting off!
LOL this is so funny because I was just discussing this on Sunday with the hubby! On Friday we re-watched Pacific Rim, great movie, but I couldn’t help but notice that while trying to kill the enemy they leveled half the city which is what the enemy wanted to do in the first place….so what did we accomplish? On Sunday we watched White House Down, another awesome movie but what was I focused on…the fact that the President and secret service guy helped destroy the priceless American Treasures in the White House, including…but not limited to…Dolly Madison’s Piano…I was just aghast! LOL
YES!! That’s so spot on!! Those are the same thoughts that I have when I watch movies!!
Lol! David hates it he is like who cares it’s about the action and I am like…sure lets just torch George Washington’s picture no biggie! Lol
Yeah movie have sort of become too formulaic for me to enjoy them properly. It really is annoying when your mind interrupts your movie watching experience to point out these pesky things. I get it. I really really do.
I know! My brain sometimes just won’t shut off! I do love the “children’s” movies, though, I think that going in I know that the movie is fantasy and my brain just sits back to enjoy!
I love these!! I have had these thoughts (which my husband asks me to keep to myself) as I have watched some of these movies!!
yeah, I’ve learned to just keep my mouth shut – but those thoughts run through my head all of the time!!!
Ha Ha!!! This is great!
Thanks! I don’t know if it’s good or bad that my son thinks just like I do – but I did feel validated when he walked by and said out loud what I was thinking!
These are hilarious…I agree about the grocery bag with french bread..even kid’s toys with grocery bags always have it. Guess it is supposed to be a staple. ha!
I know! I saw that one and sat there for a minute thinking about it.. and was like “Oh my goodness!! It’s true!!”
& to think that these movies make millions of $!
I know!!!
š
HAHAHAHA I’m having a good laugh at these!
I’m so glad! Once I realized that I wasn’t the only one baffled by movie logic I started doing a search… and picked the ones that just cracked me up!
No. 8 is so true!! Haha! Asking questions about movies.. sometimes don’t we wish that we can watch movies with children’s naive mentality? That’s the thing with adults.. we analyze movies.
I know!!! It’s awful and so funny at the same time!
Some of those movie logic points are really funny. I especailly like the ones about french bread and being knocked out for 20 minutes.
Thanks! I picked the ones that made me laugh… Cause they are so true!
Laughs are always good.
