Wordless Wednesday: #NYGvsDAL

It’s that time of year again! My best buddy BA and I went to the Cowboys vs. New York Giants game this weekend, and boy, it was awesome!  And in case you missed it, SPOILER, we won!

A little pre-game tailgating action.

Rowdy came out to excite the crowd, and naturally, I had to get pictures for Mr. T

I sent these to Mr T with a note "one day, this could be you!" His response was "if only I liked football." :/

Yes, that's my BA.

Yes, that’s my BA.

Who, after an elbow to the ribs from me, fixed his face!

NYG v DAL NYG v DAL 7 NYG v DAL 3

The game was so good that I failed to reach for my phone to take pictures until the 4th quarter.  That was when word floated down that Jay Novacek was in the suite.  If you don’t know anything else about football, just know that Jay Novacek is one of the best tight-ends that ever played and is a wonderful human being!

AND I GOT A PICTURE WITH HIM!!

AND I GOT A PICTURE WITH HIM!!

And even though BA told me to leave him be, guess who got a picture with him, too?

Uh huh, that's right. BA and Jay Novacek.

  1. Awh looks like a great evening. well spent with your buddy !!Such a sweet day Kate. Don’t know much about this football but if you say ‘Jay Novacek’ is great, I’ll believe you a 100%, He is great ! 😀

  2. Okay, I’m totally sports impaired.
But I will say this – sometimes, it takes a good elbow to the ribs to get someone to set their face straight. Well done!

  3. I am just a teeny bit jealous that you are able to see pro football games! I have never been to one and would love to go. Just once! And…how awesome to meet a big star! I was lucky once (didn’t get a picture though). I was volunteering for the US Open (golf) at Torrey Pines in 2008. All the big superstar golfers were there. We were checking people into one of the ritzy guest tents and who should walk up? Lynn Swann. I shook his hand, checked his ID and welcomed him in. Talk about just a little star struck! I wish I’d gotten a photo. Too bad, though, that would have been a “no-no” for me being on volunteer time.

    • I’m telling you, the camera phone was probably the best and worst invention of all times! LOL.

And I am very fortunate to be able to attend, it was a fluke lunch meeting that set the events into motion, and I’ve really enjoyed it. I remember the first year I was just excited to have a bathroom so close!!

  4. The Cowboys are off to a great start. I did not expect it. Btw, when I think of the Cowboys, I think of you and this other person who I know who is a Cowboys fan. If you recall, the first post I responded to of yours was about the Cowboys. Anyway, I’m glad you enjoyed the game but I was rooting for the Giants. It would have been better for the Eagles. We are going to have to talk before the Thanksgiving game.

  5. Oh, I don’t know what to say that would not disappoint all the football fans in my life. I’ve been told that I’m to hate Texas, in all things sports. Given that I know nothing sports, I don’t really understand, so I’m going to go with this. Ready?
“Grrrrrr… I’m so mad at Texas sporting events. They all suck.”
    Was that good?

  6. How great that you got to meet him! Fantastic.
The highlight of my trip to Buffalo for the Bills game was the family of four that sat next to us. Mom, Dad, little girl ~3 years old and …A 6 WEEK OLD BABY. What in the actual f*&k??? Who does that? I literally had to bite my tongue for 3 hours because everything inside of me wanted to rip into them for bringing a newborn into that environment (COLD, LOUD). Then, when a fight broke out a few rows above us and security, EMS, etc. came storming down our row – I nearly lost my mind. That baby could have been crushed! Ugh, I’m getting all tense just thinking about it.
