For those that know me or have followed me for a bit, my random accidents aren’t a surprise because I am a klutz!
If being a klutz was an Olympic sport then I would have a gold medal.
Yesterday afternoon, while taking the protective cover off of an S blade for a food processor, I sliced open the top of my finger.
Yeah, that happened.
Mom drove me to the urgent care clinic where we got to meet Baby Blue.
I have two stitches on my top knuckle. As such, it is imperative that I not bend that knuckle. I’m paranoid about accidentally bending that finger at all and causing more damage! So, since I’m hyper aware of it, I started playing a game.
Lucky you, there are two weeks we get to spend with Baby Blue and I’m documenting all of it!!
We tried out our new raincoat this morning. It’s a bit small, but kept him dry!
“Look mom! I can tie my own shoes!”
“Yay Baby Blue!! Good job!”
Mr. T was so proud he took the picture to document the event.
Baby Blue went for a car ride and loved watching everything fly by the window.
Currently, he has taken his pain pills and is sleeping, but he told me he’s really looking forward to sharing his adventures with you for the next couple of weeks!
I love your quirky sense of humour!! I so wish I could hang with you in person. I know it would be a riot!!
We would have so much fun! The moment you guys decide to move – I really think you should consider Texas! π
Mike says he’s a big, white Canadian – he’d melt in Texas. Sigh. Maybe I can get him to visit.
That’s so funny, I almost made a comment along the lines of that you’d get some color down here and wouldn’t be so white! π
lol, too funny!
If you’re getting the gold medal in clumsiness, I’m getting the silver! Two weeks ago I tripped and landed directly on my face knocking out THREE FRONT TEETH and ripping open my whole lip. Super fun! Your cute little nickname for the cast is so adorable! I was planning to draw some humor out of my own situation by throwing on some overalls and a straw hat to match my toothless grin, then posting it all on Facebook. Then I changed my mind, took some pain meds and slept for two days straight. Hope you’re feeling better!
Im still having trouble envisioning how that finger tied a shoelace….are you sure the others didnt do it?! π
hehehehehehe. Blue may have had a little help… but since I didn’t have to have my son come tie my shoes, I’m counting it as a win!
Bahaha too funny! I’m always terrified of my food processor blade for that exact reason. I hope it didn’t hurt π¦
It stung, it throbbed, not going to lie, I shed some tears! Overall, it’s okay though π
Love how you have turned this negative into a positive and have kept your sense of humor π Hope you heal quickly Kate!
Thanks! We are having as much fun with it while we can… it really is so very obtrusive and stands out like a flashing neon!
I hope it’s getting better Kate! But the blue is really pretty. You must be good to be able to tie shoelaces and type. Sometimes it takes an injury to realize how important a part of our body is and the inconvenience that comes with it. Wish you well!
Thanks Christy! I am trying to be very careful with it, and it’s amazing how important that finger is! I took it for granted!
don’t take this the wrong way- I love recounts of your mishaps, they make me feel better about my own life π I am so glad Baby Blue has not stopped your from typing and recounting your adventures. I would really consider it a much more serious injury otherwise
LOL, i”ll admit that my typing is suffering, and my responses are much shorter, but I’m thankful that it’s not a more serious injury, too!!
OUCH!! That’s a terrible thing to be happening…hope Baby Blue is healing soon.
Take care and be well (and extra careful) always~ Cheers!! π
Thanks! I’m quickly learning how to be careful with it! lol
Glad to know that…anyway, just be really really careful, okie?
Take care & Cheers!! π
oh NOOOOO! But I have to say, I sure love that you named it! I also love the photo documentation. OF COURSE!
Lol! Wait until you see the next set! I’ve had so much fun with Baby Blue! π
That’s the worst. Hoping for a speedy, painless, and scar free recovery.
Thank you!!!
OUCH!!! Hope you and Baby Blue manage to stay out of mischief for the duration of his stay.
Thanks! He got his clothes changed this morning and wasn’t a happy camper, so hopefully he’ll take it easy!
SO sorry for the injury, but pretty impressed with Baby Blue. π Not that I don’t want Baby Blue to have his/her due….but I hope you heal fast. π
thanks!! I have a min of 10 days in this thing – but I figure if I’m going to be obsessing over it, you guys could benefit. π
Well benefit us on. π
Ouch!! Hahaha!! I’m feeling inner struggle here π Hope BB gets better soon. Val
Thanks Val! I hope so, too! π
Ha!! So cute and what a positive spin! I am super clumsy as well so I feel your pain. Looking forward to Baby Blue’s adventures but also hoping they go by quickly for you. I would like to see Baby Blue typing please π
Hahahhahahaha. That will be a sight, but we will recruit Mr. T to take that picture… It’s not a pretty sight and I spend more time hitting backspace than I do typing!
That’s a great idea! I hadn’t thought of that one yet… But I did get a super cute picture of him taking a nap earlier. They are so cute when they sleep!
“They”…lol, love it. Take another pill, Kate! π
π
I hear you. I’ve taken klutz to new plateaus. I’m so sorry to hear about your finger. The shoes are cool. π
Lol, I’m glad I’m not the only klutz out there! π
I thought I was following your blog Donna… But I wasn’t! I’ve fixed that! π
Oh no! (But oh my, how fun will these posts be?…) π
I hope the posts turn out to be as fun in real life as they are in my head. I’m already cracking myself up over them and they haven’t even happened yet!
Bummer about the injury. Seems like you are dealing just fine and have even made a new friend. Goofy!
Lol, very goofy! But really funny, too! I just got a great shot of Baby Blue taking a nap, can’t wait to share that one! π Stay safe and Warm! We just had sleet pouring down on us for hours, looks like snow, slippery like ice… Oh joy
Are you also on painkillers?
Hahahhahahaha! I wish I could blame it them, but I can’t. I’ve only had one painkiller today.
You know what I noticed? You still wear Fila shoes. Sorry you tried to amputate your finger. I’m glad you didn’t!! π
Lol, so far the Filas have been the best as I walk, I’m afraid to change something that is working!
And thanks! I’m glad I didn’t either!
Poor Kate!! But Baby Blue is stylin’ and drugs are good. I love that you are finding the fun in all this by blogging about it. You rock.
Thanks Sarah! I’m glad you like it, cause it’s just cracking me up!
Oh dear, hope it heals fast! β¦ Nice to meet you baby blue π
Thanks Dean! He’s happy to meet you, too! π
Sorry for your pain, but I have to say I love this post. Thanks to you and Baby Blue! I’m glad you are both able to continue blogging your adventures for us.
Thank you Ann!! I’m keeping myself entertained thinking about our adventures! Lol
Have you considered using a condom as a raincoat? It would probably fit better and it would definitely be entertaining for us!!! π
Oh my goodness!! On the way to church Mr. T had that thought! Lol. He asked if we should get some on the way home!! I told him that I just couldn’t do it!!
Haha… on the way to church! !! That’s priceless!!!
Mr. T is going to love that you came up with the same idea!! I’m still giggling!
Hahaha that’s awesome! You should totally do it!!! I mean… why not? And it really would work!
don’t they have little finger condoms…or not really condoms but those covers people in Subway use if they have a cut? Finger condoms. ha!
We’ve already discussed that real condemns would work better, but I can’t bring myself to do that! And I may have to looks for “finger condoms” cause the current raincoat isn’t the easiest to get on and off!
That raincoat is a great design π hope you are not in much pain.
Thanks! So far I think the healing is going just fine and not a lot of pain!
Ouch! So sorry to hear that. But looks like Baby Blue is living large. Fell better soon.
Thanks Ronit! It’s silly, but if I’m going to obsess over it I figure I might as well make it fun!
Ouch! My insides just went double flip, I can’t imagine the pain! I hope it heals right away.
Thanks! Me too!! It was more painful than I would have expected and I’m grateful for pain pills!
Oh no! That sounds horrible! At least the blue is pretty. π
Thanks! I am so horrible that I made the nurse go see if there was and purple tape in the other room. Lol. You know, just in case!
Oh no Kate, must have been really painful! I hope it heals quickly and baby blue can be on his way, until then I’ll look forward to reading about his adventures. Xx
Thank you!! It was surprisingly painful and I figure if I’m going to obsess over it, you guys should benefit! π
Lol good idea π
Sorry for the injury, but welcome aboard Baby Blue!
I love the shoes!
π Baby Blue is happy to be here, thanks! And those are my fav shoes! So comfortable!!
