I love my bucket list! If you’ve followed me for a bit, you are well aware of this, if you haven’t, well you can catch up HERE.
I’m excited to announce that I finally crossed this latest item off – it’s been driving me nuts! Fried Ice Cream! When did it become so hard to find?
Bert picked me up (for a lunch meeting) and we went downtown to a nice restaurant that, per Google, was supposed to have fried ice cream. We were seated and I picked up my menu and immediately asked “Where’s the desserts?” The waitress looked a bit taken a back and Bert started to laugh. Really? I’m the very first person you’ve ever had that asked for the dessert menu before they ordered? Other people need to get on the ball! How do you know what to order if you don’t know what you are saving room for?!?
Anyway, she brought me the dessert menu and my jaw hit the floor… “where is the fried ice cream?” Oh, they don’t have it. “No, you don’t understand, Google says you do!”
UGH.
So, to comfort myself, I ordered a margarita. And chicken fajitas.
As we were wrapping up lunch and were done discussing business, I looked at Bert and said “You know, I think we have to make a pit stop on the way home. I know another place to try.”
And we did – it was just one block north of the freeway and there were two restaurants that it could have been. We walked in the first one and struck out. I walked in the second one and then ran back to his truck and grabbed my purse and told him to get inside!
I took this pick of me and Bert so that you could see the fact that we are in an Asian restaurant. Well that and the fact that we are so good looking!
You don’t expect to see this on the table at the place you are about to eat fried ice cream!
Oh my goodness… doesn’t that look yummy!
Fried on the outside, frozen solid in the middle!
I got caught sneaking a pic of Bert enjoying a bite!
This was awesome! I’m so glad I was able to cross it off my bucket list and even more importantly, I’m so glad that I have friends that are willing to help me out!
Oh yum!! I’ve wanted to try make that foreverrrrr!
It was awesome!
Yay for Margaritas! And Fried Ice Cream – I’m so glad you did it!
Me too!!! It was awesome and I love crossing items off my list! 🙂
Was it good? I didn’t you say that. I was always curious about it too. It sounds interesting.
P.S. I like your thought – doesn’t anyone order dessert before their meal? I think it’s perfectly fine – very wise even.
It was so yummy! Very well worth it, I’ll be ordering it again!
And yes! Dessert should be ordered first sometimes – in fact, last year I remember a lunch meeting where I had dessert as my meal. 😉 Life is short!
I hope I can find it up here then to try it. If I ever do, I’ll let you know.
yum! I haven’t had it but a local Mexican restaurant serves it. Now, after seeing that pic I am going to have to try it!
You should! It’s so cool! I know how they make it, but now that I’ve tried it, I can’t believe I waited so long!
I loved this posting. I love the pictures, especially. And I so smiled at how you ordered a margarita and chicken fajitas in order to comfort yourself that there was no fried ice cream! I woman after my own heart 🙂
Lol! Thanks! It was fun and a great memory.
Awesome! Glad you got to cross this one off your bucket list.
Me too! I love crossing things off and even more so when they are yummy!
I love fried ice cream!! We go to a Mexican restaurant in town that serves it to you for free on your birthday. My kids love that!
Now that’s just awesome!!! I’d love it free!! 🙂 I tried several Mexican restaurants because that’s where I had always seen it, but none of them have it here anymore!
Oh my that looks soooo delish! I must add this to mine so I can try it too!!!
It was sooooo very good! Well worth it!
The little Mexican place by us has it…..I must must try it next time!
Do it!! Then tell me all about it! 🙂
